Ignored

As John walks around the oil well town of Plainview, Nigel West Dickens tries to catch his attention while hiding in some bushes. John attempts to ignore him as Nigel tries to sweet talk a little. John gets Nigel to admit he wants another favor - something John is getting very mad about. After some more talking John agrees to help sell some elixir again. Nigel becomes happy and says to come with him and meet the people in the other oil business.

Customer Service

Once in control of Marston, run to the marker in the middle of the waiting crowd as Nigel walks over to his display. A cutscene shows Nigel putting on his same old show about his cure-all product. However, 2 men on horses ride in and interrupt the show. They call Nigel a fraud and tell the crowd how he swindled Cholla Springs. This leads to outrage as Marston escorts Nigel away, who apologizes if science isn't for them.

When in control again, run to Nigel's wagon and hop on. There are four initial enemies with two on foot and the other two on horseback. The two on foot will seek cover and not be much of a threat while the ones on horseback will chase after you. Kill them.

Endless Enemies

All along the road enemies on horseback will spawn, sometimes two at a time. They will spawn a distance behind you and ride up alongside to shoot you. Kill them as they approach or when they get close enough to draw their weapons. There will be about 15 enemies total on this stretch.

Eventually you and Nigel will be faced with a blockade of wagons after seeing the train (coming from a bridge that isn't complete yet). Simply shoot the rear of one the wagons where there are boxes of dynamite. The explosion will obliterate the wagons and enemies in your way. There will also be one enemy standing up high on the rock formation on your left. Kill him as you ride through and Nigel will compliment your work, saying he will make haste for Cueva Seca.

After the blockade you have a very brief break. As you pass near Benedict Point, a wagon will ride towards you from the outpost. Kill the two enemies on board. Be careful if they get near you because there is a box of dynamite in the rear - also useful if you can shoot it early.

As you two keep riding along, three more enemies on horseback will appear behind you, one at a time. Kill them as they come. Another wagon with two enemies will spawn South of Tumbleweed so kill them too as they try to cut you off. Farther along the road three more enemies on horseback appear, the second one spawns far off to the right among some trees and takes a little bit to get on the road and to you. Kill them all. There is one last wagon that will spawn just behind the Tumbleweed mansion. Kill them as they sneak out from behind some rocks.

When you near the train tracks Nigel will exclaim that you made it. You both continue to ride a little farther to Cueva Seca where Nigel will thank you and wonder what is wrong with people in the final cutscene. As John is getting noticeably agitated, Nigel proposes to try racing again instead of selling elixir. John isn't completely happy with the idea but Nigel reminds him that he is simply an old elixir salesman and not an army that gets things done quickly. John walks off.

Gold Tips

  • Sprint to the marker.
  • Sprint to Nigel's wagon.
  • Kill the enemies on horseback and don't worry about the enemies on foot.
  • Wait for enemies on horseback to get close before shooting. Use Dead-Eye bursts if needed to get headshots. When alongside your wagon they stay somewhat steady.
  • Use Dead-Eye if needed to shoot the blockade. It won't mark the dynamite boxes, though. The boxes don't need to be visible to trigger an explosion so shoot the back of the middle wagon if you aim early.
  • Kill enemies on the wagons as soon as possible. You can usually see them approaching (ahead of you, from the side) before they show up on your radar/mini-map.
  • If you get low on ammo, Nigel provides an endless supply of bullets.
