Welcoming Committee

John enters the town of Chuparosa and is met by three frustrated gentlemen. After a tense conversation and losing his hat, Marston ends up shooting the men. An old American man exits the shadows and berates John for killing peasants and tells him he can barely shoot. After some small talk they walk off to improve John's skills. Later, John is seen shooting bottles just outside the village walls. The man finally introduces himself as Landon Ricketts. John states that when he was young, Landon was famous. Landon says he's just waiting around and John talks about the men he is looking for. Landon also mentions the revolution nearing. Before getting too into the discussion, he wants John to continue his practice and gives him a Schofield revolver.

Testing... 1-2-3

In control of Marston, you are faced with three bottles. The instructions onscreen tell you to enter Dead-Eye and then how to pick targets. Pick all three bottles and fire at them. Hitting less than three will cause the drunk nearby to laugh at you and you'll need to try again.

After successfully taking out the three bottles, follow Landon. He'll say the birds (vultures) are always causing problems. After standing near a group perched on the roof, Landon will shoot his gun to scare the birds off and tells you to get more than one at a time. Shoot two or more in one Dead-Eye use to complete this part.

Walking back into the village, Landon will ask about his current fame. John says some people still talk of him. They are interrupted by a man yelling from the bank. He states a bank wagon is under attack just outside of town. Landon tells the man, named Ramon, that he'll take care of it. John says he's ready to test his skills further.

Bank wagon banditos

Get on your horse and follow Landon. He'll ask about Escuella and Williamson and why John wants to kill his "friends". Before the conversation gets too deep, the pair comes across the wagon. Three bandits appear with one holding the driver hostage. Take them all out.

Once the bandits are dead, escort the wagon to Chuparosa. Landon and Marston will exchange a small war of words during the trip. Near the village there will be a wagon across the road with three more bandits. The game will say to target the lanterns. Doing so will make them explode like a fire bottle. Kill the bandits however you wish and the bank wagon will drive around. On the final stretch John learns that Landon gives people hope by helping them when needed and says how lucky they are to have him.

Finish escorting the wagon to the village and the final cutscene shows Landon telling the driver to buy him a whiskey later to make things even. John watches as they enter the bank.

Gold Tips

  • Quickly enter Dead-Eye and mark/shoot all three bottles.
  • Walk to the birds with Landon and aim at them on the roof. As soon as he fires his gun, enter dead eye and mark/shoot two of the vultures.
  • Walk with Landon into the village.
  • Quickly get on your horse and ride with Landon to the wagon. At the last curve, sprint ahead to trigger the cinematic.
  • Quickly mark/headshot the two lone bandits before Landon gets them. Then mark/headshot the one with the hostage driver. You can get very close without sacrificing the driver.
  • Wait for the wagon to get on the main road and then sprint ahead to the blockade. Mark/headshot the three bandits.
  • After the wagon and Ricketts catch up, sprint ahead to Chuparosa.
