Red Dead Redemption has racked up quite a few awards for 2010 including numerous Game of the Year awards. Rockstar Games and Rockstar San Diego must have one heck of a trophy shelf to show off their winnings. Check out them all below and post ones we've missed!

Award Shows

These awards were won at various ceremonies either televised or private.

Spike VGAs

One of the most watched ceremonies is the Spike Video Game Awards. RDR lassoed 4 of 10 nominations:
  • Best DLC (Undead Nightmare)
  • Best Song In A Game (Far Away)
  • Best Original Score
  • Game of the Year

AIAS IAA

The 14th Annual Interactive Achievement Awards took place on February 11th, 2011. Out of 9 nominations, Rockstar claimed 5 of them:
  • Outstanding Achievement in Art Direction
  • Outstanding Achievement in Game Play Engineering
  • Outstanding Character Performance (Rob Wiethoff as John Marston)
  • Action Game of the Year
  • Outstanding Achievement in Game Direction

GDC Awards 2011

The 11th Annual Game Developers Conference Awards took place on March 2nd, 2011. Rockstar was nominated for 6 awards and won 4 of them:
  • Best Design
  • Best Technology
  • Best Audio
  • Game of the Year

GANG Awards 2011

The 9th Annual Game Audio Network Guild Awards was held March 3rd, 2011 at the Game Developers Conference. From 10 nominations in 9 categories (out of 14 total), Rockstar took home 4 awards:
  • Audio of the Year
  • Music of the Year
  • Best Interactive Score
  • Best Dialogue

Another award not directly to Rockstar was Rookie of the Year which went to Woody Jackson and Bill Elm for their work creating the Red Dead Redemption soundtrack.

Online Gaming Sites

Awards handed out by various internet gaming websites for their "best of 2010" picks and such.

Machinima IGAs

Machinima's Inside Gaming Awards gave RDR 5 awards from 8 nominations:
  • Best Sound Design
  • Best Original Score
  • Most Compelling Character (John Marston)
  • Best Narrative
  • Game of the Year

IGN

Gaming super-site IGN posted their Best of 2010 results along with a readers' choice too. Red Dead Redemption had numerous nominations but only won a few from IGN and a bunch from the readers.

  • Funniest Game, Undead Nightmare (Xbox 360)
  • Best Story (PlayStation 3)
  • Best Character (PlayStation 3)
Readers' Choice:
  • Funniest Game, Undead Nightmare (Xbox 360)

Also noteworthy is RDR making IGN's Most Memorable Moments for the crossing into Mexico.

GameSpot

GameSpot had an extensive list of awards to hand out. RDR had 16 nominations for the editors with 3 additional noms for the Readers' Choice voting (19 nominations total). The game took 12 editor picks and 8 reader picks:

Aussie Gamers ran a fan vote to find out your game of the year and the editors posted their individual picks too, which included a few nods to RDR. Fan results:
  • Action/Adventure Game of the Year
  • 3rd place for worst game, a write-in ballot (gotta love the haters! smile.gif )

Kotaku

Gaming site Kotaku took their time debating which game was on top for 2010. In the end, Red Dead Redemption took the honor. The fans got a say too:
  • Game of the Year
  • 3rd for Reader's Choice
