Take control of Mexican Army prisoner wagons with Landon and then take the prisoners to freedom in the United States.

Relics

John joins Landon for a drink. Landon says he has no new info on Escuella yet and the two talk of John's relationship with him and his old gang. After some chatting and a few shots they are interrupted by Luisa. She exclaims that more prisoners including a writer and local official are going to be killed without a trial. Ricketts makes a quick joke but quickly returns to a serious manner. Luisa says the prisoners are near Escalera. Landon tells john to hang up the self pity and they all get up. Luisa thanks them both as they walk out.

One more ride out

Walk outside with Landon and mount your horse. Follow Ricketts out of town towards Escalera. Marston says Luisa seemed shaken up but Landon explains that she is angry. Before talking too much about Allende, Landon turns the conversation onto John for his rumored contact with the dictator. They exchange a few more heated words before silence takes over. A little further down the road, when you both enter a small canyon, Landon will change the subject to John's family. John says his family is the only thing keeping him going. Landon sees a bit of himself in John.

As the pair approaches the main road, two prison wagons with Mexican Army escorts pass by. Landon exclaims that those must be the prisoners and that John should try to take control of the first wagon.

A different kind of train robbery

You will likely be behind both wagons as they ride along. Take out the three guards and the driver of the second (rear) wagon with Landon helping. Landon will stop and mount this one. Ride ahead to the other wagon and take out those three guards and the driver as well. Try to kill the driver first if possible. Mount the wagon and Ricketts will ride up from behind telling you to hurry up and get the prisoners to America.


Follow the highlighted route to the bridge into the United States. Stay on the roads to avoid damaging the wagon or flipping it over a rock.

Don't get too comfortable

When you approach the bridge, two enemies will appear at a small blockade plus two on horseback will ride out to you. Kill them all, starting with the horsemen. There is a TNT crate to the right of the blockade but it may not kill the enemies. Ride through and another blockade is ahead with four enemies. You should have enough time to kill all of them while running your wagon across the first bridge. There is a TNT crate on the left but it won't reach all of the enemies.

Once you are past the second blockade, the last two enemies are on a raft down in the river on your left. This time there is a Gatling gun involved so be careful and quick. There is another TNT crate on the raft behind the enemies. If you have trouble shooting them while crossing the bridge, keep right to avoid bullets and take aim after you are across and find the open spot to shoot.

Continue following the highlighted path to the marker up the hill which triggers the final cutscene. John will dismount and set the prisoners free as Landon walks over. John and Landon say their goodbyes. Landon will say that John brought him back to another time and to talk to Luisa since she has connections in that other land. They shake hands and part ways for the final time.

Gold Tips

• Mount your horse and get a little ahead of Landon. Once he's in the roadway (away from the fountain and stairway which he can get caught on) sprint away. Landon will follow behind you.
• When you come across the wagon train, quickly Dead-Eye and headshot the drivers and also the guards. Try to take out the driver and the three guards of a wagon in one go. If you are quick enough, you can use the hill on your left as a vantage point overlooking the roadway. (Note: If Landon is near you, you will be "frozen" for a few seconds as he talks about the wagons.)
• Sprint to the bridge by following the highlighted route. Don't tire out the horses and stay on the road.
• When approaching the bridge, as soon as the enemies appear make a left off the road and meet the enemies on horseback head-on. Dead-Eye and headshot them, then get back on the road and Dead-Eye/headshot the two at the first blockade.
• Continue sprinting ahead and Dead-Eye/headshot the four enemies at the next blockade.
• Dead-Eye/headshot the two enemies on the raft to your left. It can be difficult to see them plus the gun and bridge supports are obstacles. Take your time.
• Finally, continue sprinting to the marker.
