Once again Nigel is not quite ready to execute the planned assault on Fort Mercer. He needs just a little more cash and John's riding skills are proven.

Still broke

John finds Nigel still hiding out at Cueva Seca - shaking off after nature called. John asks if Nigel is finally ready to go after Williamson but once more Nigel says he needs more money to outfit his wagon with some equipment. After failing to belittle John with fancy words, Nigel is reminded that a bullet in his head would suit John just fine at this point. Put in his place, Nigel persuades John by complimenting his riding skills and that he knows how and where to make this last bit of cash. To Rathskeller Fork!

Off to the races

Once in control, hop onto your horse and head out with Nigel. You don't actually need to stay with him; you can go straight to Rathskeller Fork which is marked on your map. The discussions during the ride include John telling Nigel he's as crooked as a dog's hind leg and Nigel thinking their partnership is a great one - but John believes it will end after capturing Williamson.


Upon reaching Rathskeller Fork, a new marker will appear off to the left for the starting line. Get there and a cutscene will show the rules being stated and the race will begin. Just like the other races, follow the markers on your radar/mini-map or the plumes of smoke. It is a bit of a long race with some narrow paths and tight turns outside Tumbleweed. Again there will be bystanders at some splits along the route to keep you on the right path. Get ahead, stay ahead, and win the race.

After winning the race Nigel will praise your victory. John asks if that's enough money yet to which Nigel says the team should be ready if Seth and Irish do their parts. A bunko, a grave robber, and a drunk. How can things possibly go wrong? Nigel rides off.

Gold Tips

• Quickly get on your horse and sprint to Rathskeller Fork marker. Do not wait for Nigel.
• Continue sprinting through the village to the starting line.
• When the race begins, sprint ahead of the pack. Then tap sprint every 3 gallops to keep your speed up without tiring out your horse.
• Stay on the roads and win the race.
• Once again it is a fair race. No weapons allowed.
