T2 Q2 Results: RDR Ships 5 Million Copies

With all the hype and excitement, plus post-release raving, it should be no surprise that Red Dead Redemption is selling well.

"Take-Two announced during its second quarter fiscal results that Red Dead Redemption has "sold in" 5 million copies worldwide since its release last month.

The publisher said the game has been a "commercial and critical success," citing the fact reviews for Red Dead Redemption have averaged high 90s across the board.

"The successful worldwide launch of Red Dead Redemption reflects the unparalleled creative talent that is a distinguishing strength of Take-Two, and the title has set new benchmarks for quality and innovation," said Strauss Zelnick, Chairman of Take-Two. "We are incredibly proud of our creative teams and their success in delivering some of the best interactive entertainment experiences."

Additionally, Take-Two announced Grand Theft Auto IV has sold over 17 million units globally to date."
