Check out Rockstar's thrid entry into their mini-series, The Weird West. All for the upcoming Undead Nightmare Pack for Red Dead Redemption.

When cowboys come face to face with dinosaurs, that’s two very separate periods of history that could only have crossed paths in the Weird West.

As we gear up for the release of Undead Nightmare and celebrate the Halloween season by highlighting some of the entertaining genre-bending combinations of westerns with horror, science-fiction and fantasy – today, we feature a fun cult film called “The Valley of Gwangi.”
Following in a tradition of earlier dinosaur fantasy adventure epics where explorers stumble upon preserved prehistoric oases – such as Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s “The Lost World”, Edgar Rice Burroughs’ “The Land Time Forgot” - and of course Merrian C. Cooper’s “King Kong” – Gwangi is the tale of cowboys in the American southwest who discover a ‘Forbidden Valley’ populated by T-Rex’s, pterodactyls and other long-extinct creatures.

The cowboy heroes must use their wits, bravery and of course some fancy lasso’ing to rein in those big boys created by stop-motion special effects legend Ray Harryhausen (Clash of the Titans, Jason and the Argonauts, and many, many others). Check out the trailer above.

As a bonus and to show that even this weird pairing was not entirely novel in cinematic history, enjoy this trailer of “The Beast of Hollow Mountain” from over a decade prior in 1956, scripted by Kong effects pioneer Willis O’Brien and starring the lovely Patricia Medina.

That's all for now! Stay tuned for more Undead Nightmare info in the next week before it's release on the 26th! Also join the discussions in our Red Dead Redemption forums!
